Therapeutic Supports

At The Flourish Collective, we provide therapy that is supportive, engaging, and creative - going beyond traditional talk-based approaches.

Through playful, practical and expressive methods, we help individuals and families build skills, strengthen relationships, and navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and ease.

Our Approach

At The Flourish Collective, we provide care in a warm, non-clinical environment designed to foster comfort, connection, and safety. Therapy may include creative, movement, and nature-based methods, including play-based and animal-assisted activities, so expression feels accessible and supportive.

We draw from relational and evidence-informed practices, including compassion-focused therapy, brain–body approaches, narrative, schema, and psychodynamic techniques, as well as CBT and DBT tools—all delivered through an affirming, person-centred lens. Our guiding values include consent, authentic identity, and intersectional safety.

  • Support for Individuals

We work with children, adolescents, and adults on challenges such as emotional regulation, identity, relationships, body image, eating and feeding concerns, and everyday stresses. Our goal is to empower people to develop self-understanding, resilience, and meaningful connections.

  • Support for Parents & Families

Families are central to wellbeing. We provide psychoeducation, parent support, family therapy and skill development, helping parents and caregivers to support their loved ones while also caring for themselves.

  • Collaborative Care

We partner with schools, health providers, and community supports to ensure care is consistent, coordinated and connected to the broader support network.

How to Get a Mental Health Treatment Plan

Getting an Eating Disorder Plan starts with a conversation with your GP. Together, you’ll discuss your health, set recovery goals and create a structured plan that connects you with the right specialists and supports.

  • 1. Book a double appointment with your GP

Let the clinic know you’d like to discuss an Eating Disorder Treatment and Management Plan. These appointments usually take 40+ minutes.

  • 2. Assessment and Diagnosis

Your GP will ask about your eating patterns, physical health, and mental wellbeing. In some cases, they may also request medical tests (like blood work or bone density scans) to ensure safe treatment planning.

  • 3. Create the plan together

Together, you and your GP will set recovery goals and decide which professionals to involve in your care.

  • 4. Referrals & Support

Your GP will provide referrals to eating disorder specialists (like our clinicians at The Flourish Collective) so you can start accessing Medicare rebates straight away.
