Supporting You, To Support Them
Timely support for parents and carers while waiting for ongoing services, or if you simply need guidance on a specific concern. While not direct therapy for your child, the SSC provides meaningful support for the people who know them best: you.
A Collaborative Space
for Practical Strategies
This 1.5 to 2-hour face-to-face session is shaped by your priorities. Together, we’ll explore what’s working, what’s challenging, and where you need support.
We’ll co-create strategies grounded in neuroaffirming, trauma-informed care to support connection, regulation, communication, or behaviour - whatever matters most to your family.
Support That Extends
Beyond the Therapy Room
After the session, you can choose to receive:
• A written summary with recommendations
• A follow-up phone call to discuss progress, next steps, recommendations and other referral pathways
Whether it’s a first step or a one-time check-in, we’re here to walk alongside you.
Additional Information
-
As we have a waiting list for ongoing services, we offer a Single Session Consultation (SSC) to provide supports in a more timely manner.
The SSC is for parents/carers and is designed to provide you with strategies to support and assist in the meantime and identify any other potential referral pathways.
The SSC is a 1.5–2 hour face-to-face session (for parents or carers, no need to bring your child) focused on providing practical strategies, insight, and support tailored to your main concerns. This is not direct therapy for your child, but an opportunity for you to gain clarity and guidance to assist in the meantime.
-
Once booked, your clinician will send a brief questionnaire to help us understand your main concerns
Depending on your referral reason, you may receive screening tools (e.g., developmental, behavioural, or emotional assessments)
You’re encouraged to share any relevant reports or assessments you have prior to the appointment
Your clinician will carefully review your information and prepare for the session
-
You'll receive a written summary with recommendations and a session overview
This can be shared with other professionals involved in your child’s care (or you may choose to opt out of the written component)
-
You’ll meet face-to-face with your clinician at our practice
For younger children, parents/carers attend the session without the child (as the focus is on parent-led support)
For older children or teens, we’ll discuss the most appropriate approach
Together, you’ll explore key concerns, practical strategies, and possible next steps or referrals
-
Our SSCs are delivered by experienced, compassionate clinicians who work in a transdisciplinary, neuroaffirming way.
We match you with the clinician best suited to your needs, based on your referral information.
-
The SSC typically includes 3 hours of clinician time (preparation, session, and written feedback).
Funding options may include:Medicare rebate (MHCP or EDP)
NDIS (Plan or Self-managed)
NTG-EAP,
private payment
Please contact us to discuss what funding or rebates may apply to your situation.
